To say I loved the remake of “Footloose” would be an understatement. What a timeless movie, original or remake.. It’s the same timeless quality of Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out For A Hero” that still hits home with me. The new soundtrack, although I was sure how I’d feel about it, has a lot more of a twangy feel to it and a little less 80’s. But with that said, Ella Mae Brown has done an incredible job with “Holding Out For A Hero”.
A delicate, heartbreaking, and spirited cover.. You can feel Ella pouring herself into each verse… and you can feel your heart opening up just listening to it. The passion in the artists vocals and the acoustic flow resonate throughout the track. I’d be lying if it wasn’t on repeat on my stereo and that every time I listened to it it didn’t bring a tear or two to my eyes.. Life has been really hard this year. Growth. Loss. More heartache than anyone deserves.. People you feel like are everything right for you and then their gone.. That might explain the tears part for me. Anyway, I’ll quit rambling, but for all the romantics out there struggling or not this song is for you.
